    Home | Bonanno | Colombo | Gambino | Genovese | Lucchese

    Joe Profaci
    Years as Boss: 1928-1962
    (Died)
Was present at a meeting of Bosses in Cleveland in 1928. Profaci's Family took sides with Maranzano during the Castellamarese Wars. After Maranzano's death, Profaci remained close with the Bonanno family. He remained a member of the "Commission". He was constantly in the newspapers, which he loved. Liutenant, Joe Gallo, launched a war to gain control of the Family, but, of course, failed. He constructed a church in Brooklyn and his portrait is on the ceiling it. He never lived to see this dream, dying in 1962. (?-1962)

    Joseph Magliocco
    Years as Boss: 1962-1964
    (Died)
Was Profaci's brother-in-law. Bonanno could now take over the Commision. So Bonanno received Magliocco's alliance and gave him a list people to murder. This list included Tommy Lucchese, Stefano Magaddino, Frank DiSimone, Carlo Gambino, and others. He gave this list to a soldier in his family, Joseph Colombo. Colombo recognized that by killing these people, he would too get murdered. Colombo reported this to the Commission. Because of Magliocco's actions, the Commision forced him to retire, but he soon died of a heart attack. (?-1964)

    Joe Colombo
    Years as Boss: 1964-1971
    (Died)
Colombo started the Italian American Civil Rights Leage when his son was arrested in a conspiracy. This organization was too public and the bosses were angry. They got hitman Jerome Johnson to murder Colombo at a rally on June 28,1971. Johnson shot Colombo in the head and was shot dead by Colombo's bodyguards. Colombo lived in a coma for seven years never waking up. (?-1971)
