
Joe Profaci Years as Boss: 1928-1962 (Died)

Was present at a meeting of Bosses in Cleveland in 1928. Profaci's Family took sides with Maranzano during the Castellamarese Wars. After Maranzano's death, Profaci remained close with the Bonanno family. He remained a member of the "Commission". He was constantly in the newspapers, which he loved. Liutenant, Joe Gallo, launched a war to gain control of the Family, but, of course, failed. He constructed a church in Brooklyn and his portrait is on the ceiling it. He never lived to see this dream, dying in 1962. (?-1962)

Joseph Magliocco Years as Boss: 1962-1964 (Died)

Was Profaci's brother-in-law. Bonanno could now take over the Commision. So Bonanno received Magliocco's alliance and gave him a list people to murder. This list included Tommy Lucchese, Stefano Magaddino, Frank DiSimone, Carlo Gambino, and others. He gave this list to a soldier in his family, Joseph Colombo. Colombo recognized that by killing these people, he would too get murdered. Colombo reported this to the Commission. Because of Magliocco's actions, the Commision forced him to retire, but he soon died of a heart attack. (?-1964)

Joe Colombo Years as Boss: 1964-1971 (Died)

Colombo started the Italian American Civil Rights Leage when his son was arrested in a conspiracy. This organization was too public and the bosses were angry.They got hitman Jerome Johnson to murder Colombo at a rally on June 28,1971. Johnson shot Colombo in the head and was shot dead by Colombo's bodyguards. Colombo lived in a coma for seven years never waking up. (?-1971)

Carmine Persico, Jr. Years as Boss: 1978-1996 (Retired)

In 1981 he plead guilty to offering bribes and got five years. Then he was convicted in 1987 during the "Commision trials" along with Anthony Salerno and Anthony Corallo. In 1992, acting boss Vic Orena went to jail and an inside war between the Persico faction and Orena faction resulted. Persico eventually won, but stepped down to stop a future war from occuring.

Cousin of Carmine Persico, he became boss after his predeccessor stepped down, only to be slapped with an indictment in September 1996 on racketeering and was found guilty. (1934 - still alive)

Alphonse Persico Years as Boss: 1999 - Present

Al Persico was named Boss of the Colombos in 1999. He took over a very weakened Family that was hurt by civil wars and Federal indictmens and convictions. Al was indicted this year for gun possian when he was in Florida on a boat and Coast Guard Ship stopped him and found a couple of guns on the boat. He has not yet sentance. The Colombos now number around a 120 "made" members. Joseph "Joe Waverly" Cacace is underboss and Vincent Aloi is consigliere. (? - still alive)
