Episode 32: UNIVERSITY - Controversy

People are talking about the 32nd Episode (4.1.01). It is turning out to be the most controversial so far... Was it over the edge? Allot of you think so. I don't.

Here is what the editor of this site thinks!

  • I thought the Episode was amazing. David Chase said right away that he would not be Politically Correct with the plot lines. This is as realistic as it gets. Yes, we did get to love all these characters. Mr. Chase is not letting us forget that in the end they are all cold-blooded killers.

    Here is what people wrote...
This is the final Opinion on Episode 32. I will not publish any more from now on. All responses were great. Only a show with a point would generate such static. I want to thank everyone who took time to write. (5/15/2001)

Im very glad that you seem to be publishing all opinions, but I have to say that some of the authors seem to be confusing tv with reality. I understand that the program is based on reality. Some of the storylines are based on things that have really happened. The infamous episode 32 for example. At a club here in Jersey, ( a go go bar), a few years ago a dancer just "disappeared". She had a young child, was said to be a nice young woman and a popular dancer who didnt have breast implants like the rest of them. No trace of her was ever found, and no clue as to what happened to her. She was supposed to be getting off of work (her mom was watching the child) and she never showed up to pick up the kid. What happened to her is a mystery, and noone knows to this day where she is...Thats reality. However....when fans of the show start saying that this one or that one ought to be bumped off...They have to ask themselves if they have got too caught up in this. Its based on reality, but it isnt real. When my boyfriend and I watch The Sopranos, he gets so caught up, you would think it was happening to him. This gentle man, who wouldnt harm a fly....Its strange phenomena, and not unlike the soap opera addicts who confuse tv with reality. What fans of the show see happen, and what they wish would happen makes no difference. Its a show. Its scripted, and the people are actors. Im as addicted to it as any of them, and realize its reality based, but its still a show.

I know I'm weighing in on the issue a little late (well, a lot late) but I only just got to watch the episode myself. I think what people need to realize is that the viewer is meant to be repulsed by Ralphie's actions. You watch and say "God, he went too far!" and turn your head. That's what Tony is thinking too. Because so much sex/violence is shown on the Sopranos, one stops remembering what kind of violence is "ok" on the show and what kind is not. I got the same reaction when Richie Aprile ran over Beenzy twice with his SUV in Season 2. The whole point of making the Tracee killing graphic/horrifying is because it WAS. It doesn't mean that women are bad/evil/disrespected. It means that Ralphie disrespected THIS woman, which is why he will get his in the end. And, in regards to the "gratuitous sex" in Episode 32, these girls work in a strip joint for mobsters and have sex for money; do you expect it to be romantic?

Ya, maybe the beating of that girl was a little graphic, But I feel it was important to the story line as a whole. If it offended some people, "Toughen up!" It is only a show, and a very good one too. The rape scene of doctor Melfi was pretty graphic too, and people didn't weep about that. If you don't like what you see, change the channel!

Ralphie's a prick and a weasel. We all know that. And Joe Pantoliano should be recognized for the outstanding job he does with this character. But as far as the gratuitous violence of this episode is concerned? I don't believe it was gratuitous at all. The violence was there for a purpose. To further the schism between Ralphie and Tony. Ralphie, after all, is a fly in Tony's mental ointment. Tony doesn't like the guy, and the fact that he is a made guy infuriates Tony even more. That said, Ralphie had to do something extraordinarily harsh to bring Tony to the point of punching him -- which Tony knows is a gigantic no-no if you're a made guy. Now, did it have to be a woman that Ralphie killed in order to make Tony lose it? Probably not. But she WAS Ralphie's on-again, off-again girlfriend, and the fact that she disrespected him at the Bing made Ralphie flip. Yes, Ralphie would have probably done the same thing to a man as he did to Tracy, if a man disrespected him the same way Tracy did. And there would be no controversy about a man being brutally killed because hey, it's okay to kill a man in mobland. But when it's a woman? All the crybabies come out of the closet and say the show is too violent and misogynistic. Which is a complete double standard. If all life is sacred, it should be just as egregious to punch a man to death as a woman. And by extension, all of those who objected to Tracy's murder should have been objecting to all of the other murders that happened in the previous episodes. Unfortunately, that's not the case in our overly gender- and ethnic-sensitive culture. Wise up. The Sopranos is a brilliant show, and everything that happens in it happens for a reason. Unfortunately, some viewers apparently have no respect for plot or character development (it's a SHOW, remember?), and would rather be politically correct than be forced to think. So if you thought this episode was offensive to women, maybe you should go watch HGTV and shut your whining pie-holes. Because, after all, you lack the intelligenc and understanding that this magnificent show requires of its viewers.

I wonder what the reaction would have been to the following episode if Tony would have whacked the dog with the bat. Would the graphic, brutal beating of a dog be tolerated as it was with a young woman? I don't think so.

I hope all these saps who say they will never watch the Sopranos again keep their word. If they're offended so easily, it's obvious they need to take off their rose coloured glasses. It's been said before, but needs to be said again. It's a show about the Underworld, NOT Bambi skipping through the meadow picking daisies! It's happens in real life and it WILL continue to happen - Life's tough. Build a bridge and GET OVER IT! The Sopranos does not need fans like yourselves. Instead of changing the channel, just throw your T.V's out altogether. It won't be long before you watch a cooking show and complain about the violence inflicted on a leg of lamb! We're in Australia and The Sopranos has a HUGE following!! More episodes like 32 needed! Keep up the excellent work!

Ralphie beating that girl to death infuriated me! He is an asshole who needs short bullet, and Tony knows that. Tony's, although a murdering rat bastard him self, has some class. Did I say "rat", well skip that, he is no stoolie. Anyway, Medow, by going with that black guy who "Dumped" her, completly disrespected Tony. In real life, she would have never gotten away with that. I was tickleed when he said "He was about to punch Tony in the face a few weeks ago". As far as the people who didnt like the epesode, Its ok when innocent men get beat and tortured, and killed for not paying up to the mob, but as soon as an innocent girl gets wacked, theres a problem. Whats with that! That prick Ralphie will get his for what he did !

Yes, this episode was graphic--I had to turn my head a few times, I'll admit. But, i did just that...I turned my head!! For those of you who can't handle the graphic nature this show has always portrayed, then turn the freakin' chanel, kapich! Ralphie beating her up had to be shown to slam the intensity and reality that all of the "Soprano's" fans cling to. It needs to have shock value, now we all have someone to despise----Ralphie. And with this, most of us look for the day when Tony has had enough and revenge for all of us women fans will be saught. Thats what it's all about. You have to disclose the violence in order to feel so strongly against the ones who are inflicting the violence (Ralphie, in this case). So, let Tony work his magic and soon, it will all wash out.

Episode 32. Why the uproar over a dead whore? It was a tough way to go and very surprising but do you think she didn't know what she was doing when she hit a made guy? Do you actually feel sympathy for any of these people? The only innocents are the children and they are fast losing that. That episode was in keeping with all the one before it in that it was well acted, written, directed, produced and is was shocking. These people have no "family values" the episode in which Chris gets his button says it best when Tony says the mob family comes before all other considerations - everyone of these guys would unhesitatingly murder any one of the others should the situation warrant it. Don't make the mistake of identifying for any reason with any of these people, they're all remorseless criminals - killers every one of them - and the show never sugar coats that. It's the best show in television history!!

My husband & I don't have HBO but we gets friends to tape it for us & we can't wait for the next episode. As for the poor girl that got her brains bashed, well we felt really badly for her cause of what happened & think that "Ralphy" will get his. However this kinda stuff happens ALL the time to girls in my city & across the nation but at least her son wasn't anywhere near the situation cause in "real life" this happens where the mom either dies, or gets killed & their kid is RIGHT THERE!!! So the people who "choose" to watch this GREAT show & complain about it, listen "there are worse things they could show!" Just leave the show alone & let the rest of us enjoy it!!!!!

I was very affected and disturbed by this episode. But not offended. This show is not about nice people. It is mesmerising, and interesting, and based on REALITY. My boyfriend and I watch faithfully every week, and he said to me after the episode in question aired .."Tony would never do such a thing to a woman". And I thought to myself, just as Dr. Melfi did in an earlier episode, "We've been charmed by a sociopath". Because thats what these guys are. And I think thats what the message is. These people really exist, they have families, they contribute to their communities, they believe in God ...but they are all murderers, embezzlers, outright thieves, etc...and this is their livelihood. These people in life are violent. If the show is reflecting reality, then wheres the shock coming from?

I am disgusted with the Sopranos. Your portrayal of women is extremely disturbing. Just because a woman is a whore doesn't mean her life has no value as your story line states. So it's no big deal to beat one to death. No loss to society. All life has value, this is not a third world country where life is valueless. But you don't stop there. Jews, blacks or anyone who is not of Italian descent is inferior. I realize the show is about Italian families in organized crime, but I can't watch the violence and degradation any more. The F word is part of their normal conversation or so you say. It's like any word too often used. People just get sick of hearing it.I'm sure other people also feel this way. Did you win any Emmy's other than best actor? Your story lines can still be effective without being so pornographic or degrading. I won't know because I will not watch The Sopranos anymore. You spit on family values and condone infidelity for men as a needed recreation and expect the wives to accept this. Yes, I have a choice not to watch, and I choose not to.

Hey, did any of you forget dis is a freakin show about da mob? Dis ting of ours isn't a priddy ting. It is about da way tings are, not how da world ought ta be. If you's can't deal wit dat, den you need to think about watchin freakin Regis or somethin.

To all the whiny idiots who complain about the show "going over the edge", grow the f#$% up ! This is a story about gangsters who kill people without remorse when they have to. If they don't like it, turn the damn channel, the best part of the Sopranos has always been its very intense, realistic characterizations. Do you think they're choirboys? NOT ! Does that mean that they're one-dimensional robots? obviously not either. As to the lady who says that the show is racist; get a fucking life! the show, as well as the real world is full of racist people like YOURSELF who find everything that goes wrong in life is someone else's fault. Hey lady, you have the Black Miss America awards and the NAACP awards every year, what would happen if someone decided to have the White Miss America???????? Yeah right! Leave the room or turn the channel or sit on your favorite chair and enjoy the best show on tv that depicts a group of people as they really are...warts and all!

I thought the episode was so well acted, written, and very intense. I didn't realize the episode was controversial until I read the comments on this site. This illustrates why the show is so original and refreshing. We're drawn in to root for these guys, especially Tony. We begin to feel like they're just like us, but in reality these guys are thugs and many of them are sociopaths. So we're left feeling confused about our attraction to these characters. As for the poor girl who Ralphie beat to death, this again shows Tony's "humanity" in spite of himself and in spite of his job. I think this girl reminded him of his daughter (in fact, we saw that in the episode on 4/15); what Ralphie did to her sickened Tony. He was beginning to feel almost paternal towards the girl. By all means, if you're bothered by violence then perhaps a show about the mob is something you shouldn't be watching. As for my husband and me, it's our favorite show, and we'll keep watching until it goes off.

after reading everyone else's comments all i can say is, it's a t.v. show, get over it. i thought it was absolutely great. they all are. it's a wonderful show. if people really don't think this stuff happens in real life then i'd like some of the drugs they use to get through the day. and as for the person who stopped watching over Tony's racism, i am so sick of hearing about that too. do you think the miss black america or the naacp isn't racist towards white people. my god, no african-americans today have ever been slaves and no causasians (as i now want to be called) today have owned slaves so GET OVER THAT TOO... this is america, the melting pot, either learn to get along or go back to africa.
And, back to the sopranos, my husband and i look forward all week long to watching this MAFIA soap opera, and as long as the action keeps up we'll continue to watch it. it's a wonderful storyline, great charactes and it explores so many more subjects than just that of the mafia. to those who can't realize it's a fictional t.v. show, (much like the #1 bestsellers of Stephen King that you've probably read)then change the channel and shut up.

I think that the focus of this topic should point people to look at the plain truth of what this show is really about. This is a show about the underworld. So if you drop your 26.00 per month for a premium channel, don't be surprised if you find yourself viewing something that you won't find on the other networks. If the Episode that aired on April first was too much for you to stomach, then turn the channel because this show is not for you. If you want to see happy images of family bonding and hugs and kisses, then this show was definitely not created for you (Try Lifetime or the Romance Channel). In response to those of you who are outraged by the depiction of violence, and degradation of a female character Stop and remember that you are watching a show about the "MAFIA". Knowing what I do about the life of Made Men, it's pretty safe to say that they probably aren't the upstanding members of the community that you want them to be. So wake up, grow, up and please stop whining and shut up.

I thought the episode was just fine. When people work in places like that they get deserve what ever they get. Besides they didn't have any trouble getting woman to play those parts, now did they? Face it, there are woman out there that will do ANYTHING for a buck!

It is nice to see how the Sopranos has accomplished its feat of losing public support with many women now joining the recent drop-out wagon. This came as a result of the female degradation that was expressed in the April 1st show.
As a black viewer, I stopped watching the show earlier this season when the writers decided to have the shows star, "Tony Soprano", express his racism towards blacks.
HBO can no longer hide behind its claim of preserving the "artistic license" of its writers, while secretly promoting racist and male chauvinistic values. We all know that HBO does not show all the artistic work that is presented to them, as HBO does censor and selects what it wants to present!
    Someone needs to censor HBO!!!

I am a 23 year old topless dancer. I am also a huge fan of The Sopranos. Although I did not in any way approve of the actions of any of the characters in the "University" episode, I thought the episode was well-written. It may have offended some people, but I do not believe it went "too far". No one was forcing those women to perform the sexual acts depicted. They knew the type of lifestyle they were getting into when they chose it, and if they were victimized, it was due to their willingness to be so. As for Ralphie, Tony clearly did not condone his actions. I sincerely hope he will find himself on the wrong end of a .45mm soon.

The episode you are referring(#32) to showed a great contrast between a "nice" rich spoiled girl(Meadow) and a poor, struggling topless dancer. If anyone needs a beating on this show,it's Meadow, she has the typical lib attitude, the world owes her and anyone else's opinion means nothing to her. As for the people here vowing never to watch the show again: It's a TV program, maybe it's based on reality, but it's still a show. change the damned channel if you're so bothered by it. I tune into it because I'm sick and tired of the trash shown daily on the regular broadcast channels, enough with yuppie wannabes and their gay neighbors,I want something with teeth that's gonna bite me and grab my attention and hold it. And that's exactly what the writers and producers of this show is doing... Keep up the good work

speaking as a female viewer of sopranos i thought episode 32 was awesome.it was how things often are in real life.i hate to break it to some of you but sexism does exist in real life.prejudice does exist in real life.violence does exist in real life. even if it was never shown on tv or movies it would still exist.sopranos always does a great job of being real and it also brings contraversial issues to light.america has too many dirty little secrets we want to push under the rug and its great to have shows like sopranos that says we arent gonna do that.if you want sweet and sugar coated programs turn on tv land or nick at nite or something.but dont tell me that show degrades women.what degrades women is when people try to tell me the worlds a shiny happy place and nothing bads gonna happen to you if youre a shiny happy person.theres also quite a few female actors working on that show.keep up the good work sopranos and thank you to the creators of this site

Nobody could despute that the University episode was harsh, violent and unsettling. But the bottom line is that this show has not become the success that it is by being sugar-coated; it is due to the realism that is incorporated into every episode that makes it so. That kind of violence (and much worse) happens all around us every day...that is a fact.

Keep in mind that there was a very graphic scene a couple of episodes back where Dr. Melfi (Lorraine Bracco) was brutally raped in the starwell of the parking garage, and being the consummate professional that she is, I'm sure Ms. Bracco would never have done such a scene if she felt it was not appropriate to the storyline or the show itself.

This show isn't Friends people, if you can't handle it, don't watch it, simple. There are plenty of other TV shows that can provide entertainment for those with even the mildest constitutions.

That was a very intense GREAT episode ....Awesome! The comments of the people that did not like it do not surprise me though...The weak in the knees Liberals are loud in their opinions of the real world violence, but they can get off their butt pick up the remote, put down their Zinfindel Blush wine and change the channel to VH1 Behind the Music...I would not care to have them in my foxhole to trust anyway...I will watch ,if you think it's bad don't watch! No one has a gun to your head.

It's funny what the dope below wrote...the show was built around caring for these guys despite what they do. Now he doesn't want to watch anymore...boo hoo, what a bitch. DUH! Maybe that's the point...maybe your NOT SUPPOSED to identify, maybe you're not supposed to accept everything they do and think. Personaly I loved the episode and after I watched it again.

I have been defending the Sopranos for over two years among my Italian and assorted other friend who were offended either by the sexism, language and violence. However, I will not be watching or defending the program any more because the April 1 episode was nothing more than a pornographic joke that did nothing to further the plot line. It was simply designed to degrade and objectify women--at the expense of what female audience the program has left. The series has always bordered on a male macho fantasy and now I suspect we will be seeing more of the same in the name of artistic license (meaning anything goes because there are no advertisers to worry about on HBO). Murdering men on a mobster program for violation "the family's" code of unethics, is one thing, but gratuitous sex and degradation and murder of women who haven't committed any crime except that they happen to be women in fictitious, vicious macho world is another. I am not simply not watching the series any longer, I am canceling my HBO subscription as well.

We enjoy the Sopranos but the excessive use of sex/violence is a BIG disappointment. (I had to miss most of this Episode 32 because it was VERY offensive.) There's a million adult films people can rent to give them those sick visuals...why are you catering to the lowest common denominator?!?! Take a chance (and give the viewers a chance) by relying more on the talent of your writers and actors instead of trying to overdose the audience with shock entertainment. Remember in the famous shower scene of Alfred Hitchcock's "Psycho"....never once does the audience see a knife plunge into Janet Leigh's body... Yet, no one who has ever seen that movie ever forgets that scene. I hope you go back to exhibiting a craft, not crap!

Why do people complain about violence towards women like it is in some way different than violence towards men. I guess some people are more equal than others.

The 04/01/01 episode was over the edge. If Ralphie doesn't get whacked, with extreme prejudice, for what he did to that young girl, I will have to stop watching this show. It's just gotten too violent towards women.

Gosh, I love the "it's reality, so get over it!" crowd. Defecating is reality, but there's not much entertainment value in it...curious how much there is in the beating death of a woman. Here's the problem I had with the episode: Unlike in the rape episode, the violence served to do little more than titillate. Thugs are brutal and misogynistic? Boy, THAT'S a revelation. Actually, the violence did something more...it served to destroy any empathy I had for Tony's crew. Yeah, yeah, I know: "it's real, so get over it!" Well, what I can't get over is that the show was built around identifying with some of these guys...caring about them despite what they do. Episodes like this one just strip the motivation for watching away. If I want violence without any dramatic context, I can turn on the news.

Just because you don't see it doesn't mean it doesn't happen. The point of the show is to be as close to real as possible, they did it. Just because you don't want to deal with reality (not the Bull Shit shown on Survivor), remember closing your eyes doesn't make you invisible. I think more shows need to deal with the current problems that we face in society today. This way we all can deal with them and not wish they would just go away. I tip my hat to the actors, writers and producers of the show keep up the excellent work. To those people that don't want to watch, you can always watch cartoons (oh my God, Elmer Fudd just shot Bugs Bunny) too violent?

i was not happy with this episode. it was over the edge. i took serious offense to the treatment of the women in general. this after the brutal rape of dr. melfi. what is this, women bashing season? I agree with the letter stating that she was an investments, a throughbred, i recall. she was pregnant. she was a child. this happens everyday on the streets. we know that. we don't have to see it. when sopranos started in the first season it was a black comedy as much as a violent drama. now it is just a violent drama. if the quirky humor doesn't return, i may not watch.

At this point David Chase can do no wrong in my eyes (and I'm a woman). This series is everything I watch tv for; great writing, great acting, shock value and good laughs. Anyone who doesn't like the violence should turn the tv off and go read a book (AND STOP COMPLAINING ABOUT IT). Sopranos is the best show in years! I only wish that each episode ran two hours long instead of one.

This episode went too far. We were faithful viewers. We won't watch it again. Everyone in our circle of family and friends is finished with the show. This may be reality but I get enough of it on the news.

What is it with people? All these Johnny come latelys that are complaining about this weeks episode. They hear about this show the Sopranos (where have they been living the last 2 years) they think its going to be this candy coated portrayal of the mafia. This isn't Dawsons Creek where the little High School slut (stripper) is pregnant and is debating whether or not to get an abortion. This is a show about the Mafia, stuff like this goes on every day. This is reality TV. Wake Up!!!

Hello. I was all set to watch this sundays show and what a horrible shock It was to see that this episode contained such graphic and explicit scenes..I thought that this was the NUMBER 1 show, well it won't be in my house anymore..If I want to watch smut I'll just rent from the adult section of my video store...what a total disappointment....UGH! And all my friends have called me too to tell me the same thing..I used to like your show,,but what happened?..If you are going to show these scenes then maybe you should consider moving your program to a later time, like maybe 12am(midnite)...from a very disgusted ex viewer as of 4/1/01.

I have been a Huge fan of The Sopranos but you're starting to make me have doubts about the show. Last nights scenes were too over the edge. I was up half the night, so disturbed by the horrible beating and death of a young pregnant woman. If you keep this up you will lose the female audience. Lots of talk about it today and none of it positive. Hope you get back on the right track.

Everyone I've spoken to today, 4/2/01 was very disappointed in last night's show .... What happened to the story we all loved? Last night's show was a study in sadistic behavior and cruelty for the sake of cruelty. I sincerely hope that this will not continue for the entire season.

I am a woman 67 years old, I love The Sopranos, Episode 32 was not over the edge for a well acted show as this. We were able to take The Godfather in my day, what's wrong with this for 2001? Keep up the good work and keep showing it as it is.

I understand that the men protrayed are not someone I'd want to take home to Mother, but Jeez. I don't think your female audience is thrilled by such graphic stuff. Has this turned into just a "guy flick"? On another subject, is Ralphie preparing the way for the demise of the whole series? The one saving grace of this episode is that Meadow was dumped. Too bad Tony didn't walk in on one of those little activities. Meadow is certainly due for an object lesson by the Boss.

Reality sucks...doesn't it? Come on folks, this sort of thing happens daily - maybe it will make people wake up and do something instead of complaining about the graphic nature of a tv show.

people have to remember one thing yeah the acting is good and the cast is great, but remember what kind of guys these are supposed to be, animals real animals. Anyone who knew people like this would understand. In real life tony would not be a nice guy nor would he be cool and sharp. he would be a killer who makes his fortune robbing and stealing from hard working people. I think this show was good in that it showed what scum these guys really are and would be in real life. I love the show but sometimes they make the public too fond of them. this show was good as an eye opener to some who would glorify tony and his guys.

The April 1st episode of The Sopranos was excellent. Chase is giving us what we want he is showing all of the DEDICATED Soprano fans what they want to see. Ralphie was passed over for a reason..like on his way to a ride in the trunk. This is a wonderful potrayal of a life many of us only wish we could experience. The preganant stripper chose her position or all of them. Really Ralphie is a ticking bomb. If you don't like what you see use the remote and turn the channel...if the episode bothered you so much don't watch there are plenty of other fans to take your place. I must agree tough thank goodness Meadow was dumped!!..If Tony only knew..!

A series that appears to be going down the tubes. Yes, these people may be animals in real life mafioso style settings. However the brutal beating of a young woman would never be tolerated. This girl was a business investment to the family, and as an earner I believe that it would go with out saying that you don't mess with an investment at any level without reprecussions.

I was very disappointed with this episode. Although we may be seing reality, I think too much time was spent on the sex. I also think the one scene with Tracy, Ralphie and the other guy doing it on both ends bordered on pornography. The Sopranos doesn't have to use sex to have people watch this show. People watch it because it makes them feel powerful and in it's own way allows us to see reality the way we would like it to be! If the guy is an asshole and deserves to be punished he gets punished. Too bad it isn't that way in the real world!

I think that when you watch a show about the mafia, you should expect the mafia. If people think this show is 'too over the edge', then they didn't know what they were getting into because that is what the mafia is all about. All they are used to is the sugar-coated version of real life 'mobsters'.

How the hell can anyoneone bitch about a show about MOBSTERS??? This isn't a show about the Girl Scouts or "Home and Garden" television! It's a fictional show about not-so fictional happenings, and sometimes, the truth is harder to swallow, (or in this case, view)... This is, without a doubt, the best show EVER...(episode and series!)

I love this show! We as an audience need to know that most of what we see is toned down, compared to reality. Sundays episode gave me a truely scary feeling of what that life style is really about. Even though it might seem too graphic, do we want reality or pretend pansie ass stuff! I want it real! Keep up the good work! When they killed Big Pussy that blew me away, and Richy that was a total shock I love this show!!!! A true fan forever!!!!

I just wanted to say that I love episode 32-University. It was great and so far my favorite episode. I am a female and I was not offended at all. I was glued to seat and I jumped and yell at the TV. When I do that you know you got a great show!!! The only thing that disappointed me is that I am a Federico Castelluccio fan and I wanted to see more of him. I would like to see his character Furio develop more. For all the people who have a problem with the episode I like to say to them "TO GET OVER IT!!!". When you watch a mobster show there will be some shocking scenes. And if you can't handle it just turn off the TV and lock yourself in your home because the real is just as shocking. RIGHT ON SOPRANOS, KEEP IT COMING! I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THE NEXT EPISODE!!!!!

This episode was great! They should all be this good! I also think that the people who thought that this show went over the edge should have there heads whacked against a steel highway divider a dozen or so times! It's the real world people! Get a life!
