Based on what I get in my mailbox, many of you are very disappointed with the lack of violence and sex in this season. At first I was trying to defend the show by saying that this is all a build up for something big. But we are half way into the season already and every promo for the next episode that HBO runs looks exactly the same. It looks like something will happen next week. BUT NOTHING DOES!!! This season is definitely a mixed bag. Some episodes were equal in greatness to previous seasons; episodes like Episode 41 - NO SHOW, Episode 43 - THE WEIGHT and Episode 45 - EVERYBODY HURTS, and some were just blunt fillers with no main plot lines or interesting ideas.

On the Sopranos violence scale, this season is no more then three and a half… four, tops…
Here is a quick overview. The season starts off with a bang! Chris kills a cop that might have been the one who killed his father, which was a great way to launch a new story line. But then… I hope I do not miss anything… Here are all the violent moments of the season. Adriana threw up, Patsy smashed the guy's head open with a pipe, Ralphie made Janice shove a vibrator up his ass, Artie got bitch slapped by a French guy. I actually would believe that Furio beat the shit out of him even without seeing it, but Furio is way too busy being in love with Carmela to muster up enough anger to hurt a fly, even a French fly. Ok, where was I? Oh yeah, the horse got sick, Johnny Sack took a piss on one of Ralphies' boys, a junky was shot in a leg, Tony beat the assemblyman with a belt for f***ing his Russian girl. I actually liked that part, although, still, there was no blood. Paulies' boys beat up a high school principal and Ralphie stepped in the pile of shit.

I will be adding more as the season drags on… stay tuned… PLEASE… I am not giving up and neither should you. This is still the best show on TV, even in this state. Sad but true…

(11/11/02) Wow, Ralph is dead! Some one finally died and it was Ralph! According to the poll I am running on this site, 36% of you should be happy with the results of the last episode. Once again David Chase did something that no one would expect. Ralph's killing was out of passion, not business. Which is understandable. He was the best earner in the Family. I was sitting for about half an hour after the episode trying to figure out if it was great or it sucked. It started off so well. The whole episode was a roller coaster. The call that Ralph placed to Paulie's mother was hilarious and then everything just escalated from there. I think the episode was good… I think.

(11/12/02) The more I think about the last episode, the more I like it. It was a good shake up. Exactly what we all needed to snap out of the mundane blur of most of this season. This is a great show and David Chase does not let us forget that.

(11/12/02) I got an email telling me I forgot about 2 more deaths this season. One, Bobby Baccala's wife dying in a car accident and Gloria Trillo hanging herself. Sorry... By the way, should I count the horse and Adriana's dog?

(12/06/02) Just wanted to add one more death before the final episode. First Paulie took her bread rolls then killed that sweet old lady.

(12/10/02) Last two were a courtesy Lil' Paulie and Benny. Two black guys who had to keep their mouths shot. I am sure Chris was very happy to dispose of them. All those cracks about his heroin problem were really pissing him off. It was a beautiful hit under the bridge.
